Oak and champagne in Martin’s luxurious new kitchen

When Martin Osbourne from Derbyshire asked Kutchenhaus to help him get his dream kitchen, he knew he wanted something which was modern, open and stylish, with smooth, clean lines. Step forward design consultant Chris Kane from the Manchester showroom.

“For the doors, cabinets and worktops, we discussed the customer’s needs with him and settled on our Xeno high-gloss doors, with dark oak for the cabinet bodies and worktops. The dark oak looks amazing with the pearlescent champagne of the acrylic-finish doors, and a high gloss helps to bounce the light around and keep the kitchen bright – not to mention easy to clean!” says Chris.

A stylish central island, also in dark oak, can seat up to six, and accessorised with leather-upholstered breakfast bar stools with polished chrome base, this creates a luxurious, indulgent feel to the kitchen.

Martin’s kitchen offers plenty of storage space, with inset floor-to-ceiling cabinets fitted in a tall bank across one wall, plus the cabinet storage in the central island. Eye-level integrated ovens make cooking for large groups and parties a breeze.

“Martin and his partner do a lot of entertaining, and one feature they were very keen on was a built-in water and ice-maker,” says Chris. “I designed the kitchen with appliances from CDA, who were able to supply this as well as the downdraft island hood. Fitting in all the appliances was certainly a challenge, but in the end I was able to incorporate everything the customer requested without sacrificing space.”

And how does Martin feel about his new kitchen? “Thank you – my kitchen looks the beez!” he says. So that’s a big thumbs up from him!
